| Arsenal Hold Advantage after Comeback Win in Semi |
Arsenal came from behind to secure a vital first leg lead in the first semi-final of this years FA Youth Cup. The home side were cruising in the first half and Alex Nimely-Tchuimeni opened the scoring by rilling the ball past Arsenal keeper Shea at the near post. After the break, a strong Arsenal team that included Jack Wilshere amongst others gained confidence and drew level when Jay Thomas headed in a corner. And with only nine minutes to go, Gilles Sunu raced clear to give the Gunners the upper hand going into the second leg, to be played at the Emirates on 22nd April at 7pm. City won't give up on the tie though, especially seen as this was their first defeat of the entire season The attendance of 2,615 was, in my opinion, slightly disappointing, so come on guys, follow your teams youth department who need your help to succeed in their careers. Help us to get youth football on the map and give it the reputation that it deserves. Date:19/03/2009 |
